Saturday 31st October ’15
Our fifth, and final date of the @EkoCollective tour, in God’s Own Country, good ol’ LEEDS. This is apparently what I looked like on the way from London….
So Leeds is where I first met Julia and Lauren, although they didn’t meet until we had all moved to Bristol. Julia used to be my neighbour in Hyde Park, and I met Lauren just as we were both about to move down to Bristol, a happy fluke 🙂 Needless to say, we all studied in this city made famous by the Otley run, and Leeds is like a second home to me. Sigh. Even my cat still lives here. SO good to see some of the Leeds crew, and even have an incredibly surreal after-show pint in the Headingley Skyrack on Halloween Saturday night, watching zombies beat up human pumpkins…. Thank you @HeadingleyHEART for hosting such a lovely evening, and to all who came xxx
Friday 30th October ’15
Fourth night of the @EkoCollective tour tonight, my native city, LANDON TAAAN!
Julia and I had a busy day today, not only did we travel to london, we went to my grandma’s to pick up 2 BOXES of my dad’s pre-naughties, dub, reggae, soul & disco vinyl, which he’s now passed on to me after a clear-out, so I now own vinyl! and it looks like I’m now kitted out to do some serious dj-ing…. Thank you @The_GalleryCafe for hosting us, and sooooo many thankyous to all the delicious friends, family and new friends who came all the way to Bethnal Green to support us (…my 85 year old aunt and her new 89 year old husband came all the way from West London!) it was magic to see you all xxx
Wednesday 28th October ’15
Third night of the @EkoCollective tour tonight, in our home town of BRISTOL.
Bristol is where Lauren, Julia and I first came together to sing as a trio, and also to put on nights together as a songwriters collective. Earlier this year, we put on our first Eko Collective night at the Bristol Folk House, where we shared a stage as 3 diverse female singer-songwriters, and collaborated as a vocal trio. We had such a great response, packing out the Folk House with our first night, that we took inspiration to do this tour, and also to start up a regular night in Bristol, opening out this shared-stage opportunity with other quality female music acts in and around the area. So, here we are again, our 2nd Bristol Eko Collective night, and the first of our new night @TheGreenbankEaston, called #FemmeDeMusique, which will be on the last Weds of every month, starting here!… Thank you to all who came to support, it was a lovely, chilled mid-week gig….
Saturday 24th October ’15
Second night of the @EkoCollective tour, in the beautiful city of BATH. Thank you @thebellinnbath #thelovelounge for hosting us, and to all who came to support… xx
Friday 23rd October ’15
First night of the @EkoCollective tour tonight, starting in yurt in OXFORD, featuring individual sets from The Eko Trio, Lauren Bradford, Julia Turner, and myself, Isolde.
Thank you @TheMusicGoesO for hosting such an exquisitely beautiful evening in your traditional hand-painted out-door yurt. I’ve never played a gig in a yurt before, and what a treat to play to play to such an intimate audience of only 20 people! It was like we were all friends, I could just say the first thing that came into my head and have a chat with you all, it was great. Thank you Oxford friends who came to support and say hi 🙂 xxx

You know you’re ill and incapacitated when all u can do is lie in bed and make up harmonies to the ice cream van inside your head… I’m being dramatic, it’s only a cough (a nasty one), but I don’t HAVE to speak or sing to ANYONE until Tuesday @ choir (lady of leisure!)…. time to catch up on a bit of culture. Feel like a real rockstar, (a very tired one), just got back from playing at Small Worlds Festival in Kent, which I ran off to straight after my EP launch gig.. my highlight moment was sitting listening to the beautiful kora playing of Mosi Konde, whilst watching the bubble people drench the air in bubbles – bubbles through fishnets! creates thick clouds of bubbaliciousness… now there’s a thought for a video…. wish my camera hadn’t died, or that I could have charged it up on the good vibes that emanated through the festival… some photos of performance to follow… now SLEEP! x
Sunday 24th May ’15
Thankyou SO much to all who came to/performed at the launch gig yesterday, and for all the kind messages. It meant a lot to me to have so many of you there, and to feel supported by your positivity. Apologies for my apologetic Englishness, I was really struggling w sound issues, so I hope that didn’t affect your experience too much. Thankyou for receiving me so generously, regardless. Big love XXX

Lovely preview of the gig from Time Out Bristol about my EP Launch gig on 23rd!
Now’s an exciting time for emerging local musicians. We’ve had a smattering of incredible exploits so far in 2015. Isolde is one of these, promoting an inspired and colourful sound and raised by a family of artists, it’s no surprise her output is consistently textured and visual. She launches her debut EP ‘Seed Bud Bloom’ down at Rise on the 23rd. Nothing like some homegrown talent.

Supported by the soulful world harmonies of The Morning Chorus (www.facebook.com/groups/themorningchorus/). You might see them dotted about in the up and coming weeks in surprise places throughout the Bristol city. If you find one of the un-boatified fliers in the boring usual places, stay tuned for instructions on how to turn it into an exciting origami vessel! Dear Bristol folk, I’ve been doing an Artist Development course this year with a great organisation called Access to Music. It’s been aimed at building the skills needed for independent artists to navigate the industry on their own terms, and I’ve found it really empowering. We have a FREE showcase gig at the Louisiana on Sunday, with a range of talented artists, and I’m going to be collecting audience responses to my music in return for cake (!). If you fancy coming to draw a picture/write a stream of consciousness/eat cake & tell me things, it would be lovely to see your friendly faces. Issi x https://www.facebook.com/events/776189152458199/

Wow, how has it nearly got the end of March? I’ve been spending far too much time in front of a computer emailing people who may or may not even exist in the attempt to promote this here EP that I’m launching in May. It can be a bit disheartening, so it was SO nice to play at the LOVE museum last night alongside Casper Riis and Pablo Villierezz, and to read all the inspired stories that came with the donated artefacts which represented love to their donators. Long-live real, beating-heart humans with faces! Here are some links to Casper and Pablo’s work:

First review of my debut EP ‘Seed Bud Bloom’ by Gemma Dietrich, from Amelia’s Magazine… “I’m sitting in a darkened Spiegeltent watching circus freaks contort and fly, expressing both the beautiful and abstract aspects of life, making me question my sanity”. So pleased my creative madness/reconcilliation translates 🙂 thank you Gemma! x

Recording all day today with the EKO girls – our new track called ‘Gordon’, an a cappella song about a grumpy commuter on the london underground who gets to be serenaded and (hopefully) cheered up by us! Music video is being schemed, but it’s proving to be a little tricky to organise… here is a link to our previous video, a song called ‘The Cutlery Shed’, written by EKO member Julia Turner, about being a really rubbish waitress:
Friday 13th March ’15
An unlucky day for some, you might argue, but not for Women in the Music Industry. Here’s a wonderful article out today about Celebrating Female Producers in the Music Industry by Gemma Dietrich – Sylvia Robinson who did ‘Rapper’s Delight’, Lykke Li, FKA Twigs, Snowapple, and ME! A true honour to mentioned in the same breath as these inspirational women x

Very special things are happening in the music industry, not just for women, but for EVERYONE, with organisations like ‘The World is Listening’ emerging and sharing equality-driven vision for the future of music. The bristol-based movement was launched today at Rise Records, with free event to celebrate women in the music industry for International Women’s Day. Big up to Nuala Honan, an excellent host, and her 3 right-on panel of guest speakers, Rita Lynch, Emma Hooper & Kayla Painter, not to mention the juicy discussions with the audience and excellent live Music of Beth Porter and The Availables & Lori Campbell.

Great reviews coming in of Vessels’ 3rd album ‘Dilate’, which comes out on Monday! Here are a couple that mention ‘As You Are’:
Loud and Quiet – ‘the deep, dub crawl of ‘As You Are’… reinforces Vessels’ aptitude for smouldering, sultry vocals and subterranean rhythms’… http://www.loudandquiet.com/2015/02/dilate-by-vessels/
The Skinny – ‘Glacial Vocals’ – never had my vocals compared to traveling ice before, but I quite like it! http://www.theskinny.co.uk/mu…/reviews/albums/vessels-dilate
