Isolde is a singer-songwriter/producer based in Bristol. She was raised in a family of cartoonists, potters & painters, which explains the visual, tactile sound she creates in her work. Her songs are collages of found trinkets, field recordings & surreal stories of the everyday, where the urban beats of her cityscape hypothesise with the forces of nature. Live, she portals you into her sonic fantasy with the aid of looped instruments & samples, hydrating you in a bath of vocal harmonies. Isolde’s work has been compared to Hanne Huckleberg, Tune-yards, Bjork, Tunng, Cosmo Sheldrake & Coco Rosie, & has been flavoured as a dreamfolk-toytronica, with pina coladas & added 9ths. 2015 saw the release of Isolde’s debut EP, Seed Bud Bloom, and 2016 eagerly awaits her 2nd EP, Holy Cow, a scrap book of songs & field recordings taken on a recent trip to India/Nepal.
In her other life, Isolde teaches singing at the Bristol Folk House, runs the Morning Chorus & the BDP Rising Voices Choir, and sings as one third of The Eko Trio, alongside singer-songwriters Julia Turner & Lauren Bradford.
